A+ Travel Insurance Policy Features

No Upper Age Limit

On all single trip travel insurance policies there is no upper age limit when taking out a policy. However on annual or multi-trip polices the upper age limit is set at 85.

The Basics

What does a single or individual trip mean?

These terms are used to describe a holiday or trip which begins when you leave your home and ends when you get back to your home, as opposed to an annual or multi-trip policy, which covers more than one trip during the cover period. A 'single' or 'individual' trip policy finishes when you arrive back to your home. Any additional holiday or trip which begins after you get back will not be covered by this type of policy.

Do i need to contact you each time I travel on my annual policy??

With an annual multi-trip policy, you are free to travel as and when you wish - there is no requirement for you to contact us unless you feel we can be of assistance with your journey.

Will my gadgets be covered aboard?

Not on all policies, please check the policy summary before purchasing. However you can opt to take out A+ Gadget Insurance where 90 days worldwide cover is included as standard, regardless of the level of cover you choose.

Is there any excess charge when i make a claim?

There are excesses applicable under most sections of the policies, unless you have selected the option to waive the excess. An excess is payable per person claiming, and is applicable per section per claim. Excesses applicable to you may vary depending on the brand of insurance and level of cover you have. Please see the summary cover found in your policy wording for full details.

What factors are considered when calculating a quotation?

We consider a number of factors when calculating our premiums. These include Pre-existing medical conditions, Policy type and cover level, Destination/geographical area, Number of travellers, Age of all travellers, Trip duration and Policy options selected such as cruise/activities.

Do you cover cruises?

Cruise option will need to be selected to add it onto your policy. It is important to ensure you have the right travel insurance for your type of cruise. Make sure all the destinations you'll visit on your cruise are included on your travel insurance policy - even if your only leaving the cruise ship for a few hours, you'll need to make sure your travel insurance covers you.

Do you insure people with pre-existing medical conditions?

We are able to offer policies to people with pre-existing medical conditions. Please ensure that you answer all the questions truthfully and accurately. Failure to declare correct details may invalidate your policy, and this may result in claims being rejected or not fully paid. The online screening process allows you to declare your pre-existing medical conditions quickly and simply.

How do I amend my travel insurance policy?

How do I renew my travel insurance policy?

For annual travel insurance policies we'll send you a renewal notice 3 to 4 weeks before your renewal date. This will contain information about your premium and your cover.

How do I cancel my travel insurance policy?

To discuss your cancellation please call us on 0330 606 2500.

If you cancel before your policy is due to start we will return any premium you have paid in full.

If you cancel within 14 days of the day it is due to start or of the day on which you receive your documents (whichever is later) we'll return any premium you've paid less an administration fee of up to £25.00 (inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax where applicable), provided you've not made a claim or travelled during that time.
